"The Inner Party, at the top level of Oceanian society, enjoys the highest standard of living. O'Brien, a member of the Inner Party, lives in a clean and comfortable apartment, and has a variety of quality foodstuffs such as wine, coffee and sugar, none of which is available to the rest of the population. Synthetic versions of these foodstuffs are available to members of the Outer Party; but they are of far inferior quality. " - 1984 (synopsis)
Congress will decide whether the USDA will be given the power to regulate all food sold in schools. Many people would argue that children are obese and they will eat candy and junk food all day when given the choice. So what? So you want Big Brother to regulate what your kids can or cannot eat? Why don't you do your job and be a parent. (I used a period because it's not a question. I know why, it's because you are irresponsible, and the government enables you to be the way you are...lazy.) It starts with kids, because as Speaker Pelosi stated, "It's all for the children", and before you know it, the government will be taxing companies who decide they want Mountain Dew or Doritos in their vending machines. It may not seem like a big deal in it's simplest form, but this is just another invasive rule from "the Philosopher-Kings" on Capitol Hill. The totality of a million small rules still add up to a million rules...think about it. Big Brother is watching you.

Why is it now acceptable for the federal government to invade our personal lives and tell us what we can and cannot do when fat sacks of lying shit (Barney Frank, Jack Murtha, Ted Kennedy, etc.) clearly eat Crisco out of the can with a serving spoon? Maybe we should take snacks out of all government offices. Oh wait, you mean they don't live under the same rules and laws that they create for all of us to suffer under? That makes sense...totally. You tell me what I have to do and then you do whatever you want...what's that called again...? Oh yeah, hypocrisy.
(Oh, and Ted, we didn't forget about you killing Mary Jo Kopechne...you fat, drunken slob.) Listen to a young Ted lie through his whiskey-stained teeth here. Now he is the widely-proclaimed "Liberal Lion" - champion of the Democrats - I hope you libs are proud!

I don't think anyone quite realizes that any sort of national health care plan could give the gov the power to regulate what people are allowed to eat and exercise they should do under the justification of wisely spending the country's tax dollars. The victory gin comment is quite appropriate and soon the scenes from 1984 where there is mandatory govt morning exercise regimes could also seem all too real.
